What with all the breakfast restaurants at Planet Hollywood being closed I had to find somewhere else to have breakfast and I found it right next door at Rockbar. It opens at 8am and its huge. You can eat at a table, at the bar inside or at the bar outside. I chose the latter as it was only about 34 degrees at 8am and in the shade (July). Service was friendly and prompt and I could have a good country breakfast, a Belgian Waffle and unlimited Iced Tea for about $17. Only downside I couldn’t charge it to my room at PH. It looks like its part of the PH complex but it isn’t.
I was so impressed I took a friend there one evening. The menu’s fine but the service sadly wasn’t a patch on the morning crew. I will visit again during the rodeo and see what the service is like when it’s busy. Maybe they’ll have more staff on duty.
Conversely I paid my old friends a visit at Toby Keith’s Bar and Grill inside Harrahs. They remember me with a handshake every time I go even though it can be many months in between visits. It was pretty dead even though it was a Friday night in July but there is still a great atmosphere and the service is always out of this world with more tricks than Tom Cruise in Cocktail. I look forward to visiting again during this year’s rodeo.
